Our solar plexus chakra is located near our naval and represents our source of personal power.
As parents, we want our children to have strong self-esteem, confidence and the courage to pursue new things; determination to keep trying and bravery to stand up for oneself.
Let’s feel confident with these kid friendly yoga poses:
Warrior II – Standing with your legs out very wide and arms raised, turn your head to the right and rotate your right foot so that your toes face the same direction. Keeping your shoulders back and down, bend into your front knee.
Chair Pose – Standing with your feet facing forwards and legs slightly apart. Gently sweep your arms forward and straight until they reach besides your ears, whilst you bend your knees as if you were to sit on a chair, body tilting slightly forward. Don’t forget to keep your tummy in and spine long.
Boat Pose – Coming down to the floor with knees bent in front of us and feet on the floor. Keeping our spine straight, you can start with your arms behind you for balance as you one by one, lift your feet off the ground. Raise your feet parallel to the ground and join your arms should high to join. If you’re feeling strong try straighten your legs!!
Lion’s Breathe – Sitting down, let’s swing our feet behind, tucking our toes to sit on our heels. Reach your hands out to each knee like lion paws, puff your chest forward, now take a huge deep breath in, and as you exhale stick your tongue right out! This one feels a little funny by a great way to release anger.

An affirmation is a great way to help embed the feelings within the body as they create these yoga poses.
