Our Sacral chakra is located in our lower spine near our pelvis.
It represents our creativity in life and for children, it is about fun, playing and expressing oneself in healthy ways including emotions.
Let’s feel playful with these kid friendly yoga poses:
Hip Circles – Standing tall with your legs hip distance apart and knees slightly bent. Place your hands on your hips and start by tilting them from side to side. Then imagine you are drawing a parallel circle to the ground as we circle anti-clockwise and then clockwise. Have fun by playing your favourite music, starting with small circles and then see how big you can make them!
Triangle Pose – Stand with your legs apart wide and lift your arms up to shoulder height. Rotate one foot to face the front of the room. Stretch your forward arm past your toes before tilting down your leg, raising your back arm to the sky to make your triangle. Breath into that side stretch before trying the other side.
Goddess Pose – Standing with your legs wide and feet angle slightly out to each corner, we’ll take a big breath in as we circle our arms above our head, joining our hands before lowering them to our heart as we bend both knees into our Goddess pose.
Wide legged seated forward fold – Let’s lower to the ground and stretch our legs out wide with a slight bend to the knee if you need. Keeping our spine long, we creepy crawl our fingers out in front remembering to pause to take some deep breaths.
